Monday, the 8th September, by train to Napoli.
Depart Roma Termini at 10.00 by Frecciarossa FR9503 and arrive Napoli Centrale at 11.10.
Our hotel for three nights was the Palazzo Decumani, Piazza Guistino Fortunato 8, 80100 Napoli

I have to say that, as Tour Manager, I viewed our visit to Napoli with some trepidation since the city's reputation for tourist safety is not good. My sense of foreboding was not helped by a delightful waitress at our hotel in Roma who, when told we were moving on to Napoli, told us to be most careful when walking it's streets. We were therefore additionally vigilant; however not for one moment during our stay did we feel threatened. I may be wrong but I suspect Napoli's reputation is worse than the reality.
