When I was eight years old my junior school teacher, Mr Wragg read to the class "The Big Six", a story set on the Norfolk Broads and one of a series of twelve books written by Arthur Ransome. It was not long before I had read all twelve. Some years ago my wife bought me a full set of the books which had just been re-printed. Now retired, we spent three days during May 2012 in the county and endeavoured to visit the locations where "The Big Six" story took place. We also took a train from North Walsham where we were staying at the excellent Beechwood Hotel, to the City of Norwich. The pictures start with Blakeney visited on our journey to Norfolk and end with Sandringham and its beautiful gardens visited on our journey home.
