At the beginning of September 2015 we spent three days in Borrowdale staying once again at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel (www.borrowdale-gates.com). Three walks were enjoyed. The first, from Grange and below Yewdel Knott as far as Manesty Cottages. The second, a circular walk around Buttermere. The third, from Keswick to Walla Crag returning by way of Ashness Bridge and the head of Derwentwater. We then moved to the small West Cumbria village of Abbeytown and spent a delightful four days with our good friends, the Reverend Peter and Irene Ormerod. From Abbeytown we visited Silloth, Wast Water, the coastal town of Sellafield, Port Carlisle and the village of Anthorn and finally enjoyed a boat trip on Ullswater. As usual my camera accompanied me and the gallery pictures tell the story.
